As a new service we offer vacuum forming. It is an alternative method of production of advertising elements that also includes illumination solutions. The result is effective and unusual forms. The technological process requires thorough knowledge of the materials and technologies themselves, as well as special equipment. Vacuum forming provides an excellent opportunity to make effective and non-standard 3D forms.
Vacuum forming is a process, during which an item with a designated shape is formed from thermoplastic polymer material (plastic) under the impact of high temperatures. The following plastics are used for vacuum forming: PLAZIT, VIVAK, PLEXGLASS, PVC.
Vacuum forming: use
The following products are produced using vacuum forming:
- POS materials (stands, supports for products, pylons, etc)
- three-dimensional constructions, three-dimensional letters for signs
- face panels for lightboxes
- store windows
- plastic shelves, stalls, est.
Advantages of production of forms using vacuum forming method
- thicknesses of the plastic used can range from 0.05 to 6 mm
- the resulting products can have a diameter of up to 1 m
Vacuum forming: equipment
The size of the working surface of our vacuum forming machine is 1.2 х 1 m, which allows us to place on the working surface and produce forms (parts) of a fairly large size.
This method is mostly used in serial production of three-dimensional products from plastic, however, in some cases it can also be used for production of single items.
Vacuum forming: technology.
The process of vacuum forming starts with preparation of the tooling, i.e. matrix or press form, on which the process of vacuum forming will take place. It is followed by vacuum forming of the plastic itself. Forming of the product takes place in the vacuum forming machine. High temperatures make plastic softer and increase its plasticity, and during vacuuming it copies the form of the matrix under impact of atmospheric pressure. It is then cooled to the temperature at which the product can maintain the designated form and stable sizes.
The impression resulting from forming is cut or milled in order to give it the final appearance according to the drawing.
Complexity of the form, depth of forming, presence of inner illumination in the finished product, complexity of post-treatment and cutting are all very important for designation of the price.
